The Holy Place
The Holy Place is the room created on the other side of the veil from the Holy of Holies. The Holy Place symbolized the earthly body of the Messiah. It contained the gifts of the Spirit the Messiah would receive for men. Psalm 68:18.
The veil separated the "most Holy Place" or the "Holy Of Holies", which contained the "ark of the covenant", from the "Holy Place", which contained the "menorah" (Exodus 25:31-39), the "table of shewbread" (Exodus 25:23-30), & the "altar of incense" (Exodus 30:1-10).

The Veil separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies. It symbolized the boundary, the limitations the flesh imposed on the Spirit of Jesus Christ, as He took on the form of man and dwelt among us on earth.

The Veil, rent in two at the moment of the death of Jesus Christ, symbolized His Holy Spirit leaving His body of flesh. And by His most holy sacrifice, He sprinkled His own blood(Heb. 9:12), entering the Holy of Holies. The essence of His holy sacrifice, a sweet smelling savor that covered the Mercy Seat.
The first gift was symbolized in the Altar of Incense and was also known as the Golden Altar. I believe this to be the gift from the Father, as He gave His only begotten Son to save the lost. The cloud in scripture denoting His presence(Mark 9:7 & 2Chr. 5:13-14). The Altar of Incense was filled with hot coals from the Brazen Altar of sacrifice. Incense was sprinkled on the hot coals producing a fragrant cloud which symbolized the sweet smelling savor, the essence of the sacrifice of the Lamb of GOD, rising and covering the testimony against us. This essence of Christ is also mixed with and carries the prayers of the saints(Rev. 8:3).
The second gift was symbolized in the Table of Shewbread which contained the Shewbread. I believe this to be the gift from the Son, of Himself, as He gave His body to be broken for us(1Cor. 11:24). The shewbread which in Hebrew means, "bread of the presence", was sprinkled with incense, which represents the essence of Christ. The Shewbread symbolized Jesus Christ as the living bread which came from heaven(John 6:51). In the O.T. ritual, the temple priesthood ate the shewbread which symbolized the promise of what was to come. In the N.T. ritual, the bread eaten in the ritual of Holy Communion given to us by Jesus, symbolizes and is Christ dwelling within the believer.
The third gift was symbolized in the Menorah. I believe this to be the gift from the Holy Spirit, the fire representing the fire of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the anointing of which gave Jesus the power & authority to fulfill His Father's will: His mission to save all that was lost. The Menorah was an oil lamp with seven flames of fire. It replicated the 7 lamps of fire before the throne of GOD found in Revelation 4:5. The Menorah symbolized the anointing of the 7 Spirits of GOD prophesied in Isaiah 11:2, which the Messiah would receive, perfect, sanctify and carry to heaven. And on Pentecost this anointing was sent from heaven and was bestowed upon the church, upon the believers in Jesus Christ(Acts 2:1-4).
Psalm 132:17 declares, "I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed". The Hebrew word for anointed is [4899]meshiyach. In English it is translated as "Messiah" or anointed.
In the New Testament the Greek word for anointed is [5548]chrio which is probably akin to [5530]chraomai through the idea of contact, to light upon, to use. Chrio means to smear or rub with oil, i.e. (by implication) to consecrate to an office or religious service; to anoint (physically with oil; spiritually with the Holy Spirit), to assign a person to a special task, implying a giving of power by GOD to accomplish the task: anointed.
In the New Testament the Greek word used to describe the Messiah is [5547]Christos which is from [5548]chrio. Christos means Christ, Anointed One, Messiah, & is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word [4899]meshiyach (cf. Greek [3323]Messias; Anointed One). The Messiah is the Son of David, an anointed leader expected to bring in an age of peace and liberty from all oppression. In the N.T., the Messiah is Jesus, who came first to bring liberty from sin and peace with GOD and who will come again to bring all things under His control.
Isaiah 11:2 delineates the manifestation of the anointing of the "seven Spirits of God". And in Mark 1:10 we see the fulfillment of this promise.
Some say that they can not find any reference to the Church in the O.T. But the Word declares that Moses built the Tabernacle and all its trappings after the pattern shown to him on the mount(Ex. 25:40). The Tabernacle and all its trappings and rituals were fulfilled in, with and by Jesus Christ and declare His Perfect Plan for our salvation. The gifts symbolized in the Holy Place represented the spiritual gifts that Jesus Christ would sanctify, by His most holy sacrifice, carry to heaven and then send them to the church, to be given to those who believed in Him. Amen & Amen!
